Meet Our Pastor...
Timberhill Baptist Church ~ The Pathway to Strengthening the Christian and the Family.
Our Pastor, Rev. Scott Miller, grew up in
Trenton, Ohio.  He was saved as a child
and surrendered for full-time service as a
senior in high school.  Shortly after this,
he met his wife, Jodi, and they were
married in 1989.  He is a 1993 graduate
of Baptist Bible College with his Bachelor
of Arts degree in Pastoral Theology.
Our Pastor and his wife have two
daughters, Bethani and Taylor, and one
son, Matthew.
He spent three years in full-time ministry
in Indiana.  He has been the pastor at
Timberhill since June 23, 1996, just
celebrating his 11th Year Anniversary at
Timberhill Baptist Church.

Dear Member/Faithful Guest:

Some of you might remember the days when Jodi and I had a second vehicle that was an old 1979 red Ford pick-up truck.  I
was proud of it.  But “Sanford and Son” would have been proud of it also.  It had been used by SK Construction Company in
Middletown for years and yes it looked like a rusty, beat-up construction truck.  I used to drive it to church with my Sunday suit
on and pull up in front of people’s houses making pastoral visits.  “Oh, those were the good ole’ days.”  But one element
besides the “three-on-the-tree” transmission was the engine.  When I pulled into the church parking lot, the guys who knew
their way around cars would pop the hood and say, “That’s one of the best engines made- a “straight six”.  It’ll run forever.”
And I’ve got to tell you, it did run good despite its looks.

Often times I look at our church as an engine- a “straight six”: dependable, durable and long-lasting.  There’s nothing
necessarily flashy about it.  It really is just good and solid.  It’ll run forever.  But I also take into consideration how many
cylinders the church is hitting on.  Are we doing our absolute best?  Are we losing engine power somewhere?  I believe the
church right now is hitting five out of six cylinders.  She is really doing well.  Those who are participating in all aspects of
worship, work, fellowship and friendship couldn’t be better.  But there are those who hold back in our congregation.  They’re
still not plugged in.  They don’t have a job in the church.  They don’t participate in the support and offerings of the church.
They hold back not wanting to totally step out in faith.  Christian, do yourself, the church, and especially the Lord a favor.  In the
month of April, fully commit.  Become an active, working, giving member of the Timberhill Baptist Church.  I believe it to be
God’s will that everybody find their niche and work, support the church, give to the building fund and faith promise missions
and freely worship the Lord.  Timberhill Baptist Church is only as strong as its weakest link.  Let’s have this engine hit on all
cylinders.

God bless,

Pastor Scott
